Data for Breakfast in Texas: Recap

“Who here is familiar with, or has at least heard of, ChatGPT? I see many hands, wonderful! Now, who can offer a clear, working definition of generative AI Large Language Model (LLM) is, what it does, what it’s good for?” – Geoff Clark, evolv

Last week, Texas was the stage for an enlightening series of Data for Breakfast events, hosted by Snowflake, that captivated industry professionals with the latest in data management and AI insights. The turnout was remarkable, with over 900 attendees across Dallas, Austin, and Houston, all eager to unlock the power of Snowflake’s data platform.

As the Black Diamond Sponsor, we took our commitment to heart, delving “Deep in the Heart of Data (AI)” and aligning perfectly with Snowflake’s mission. Our approach resonated with the attendees, showcasing our belief in data as the foundation of innovation and insight.

The Texas Triptych: Dallas, Austin, Houston

The energy was palpable as we shared practical insights and celebrated our partnership with Snowflake and our client, SoFi. Adam Colclasure from SoFi shared the stage to highlight the transformative impact of our collaboration, from a chatbot boosting productivity by 417% to streamlining data from over 50 sources. Our team, including Chris Schneider and Geoff Clark, provided a deep dive into the solution’s versatility across various industries.

Jonathan Gard added a touch of whimsy with a T-shirt cannon, embodying our blend of professionalism with a dash of fun.

“SoFi Virtual Assistant is a simple self-service natural language conversational prompt stitching together the many distributed institutional knowledge stores across the enterprise while summarizing the results with a generative LLM model. Data Catalogs, Code Repos, Wikis and other knowledge is at the fingertips of the user. Combing through Git, JIRA, Snowflake Meta and others is as easy as asking a simple natural language question.” – Chris S.

Engagement and Insights in Real-Time

The events were more than presentations; they were interactive experiences. Live demos of Snowflake Native Apps offered a peek into real-time data visualization, and a panel discussion with experts from evolv/SoFi delved into the nitty-gritty of AI and automation.

“Many of you have been asking, ‘What can we do with AI?’ Our team was able to launch this proof of concept in just a few months because everything we needed was available within Snowflake, bypassing the need for external procurement. Anyone familiar with corporate processes knows that navigating procurement in 3 months would have been impossible! This example illustrates the remarkable speed-to-market you can achieve by utilizing a single platform, in partnership with expert collaborators.” – Adam C, SoFi

A Look Back

For those who want to revisit the event or experience it through others’ eyes, we’ve shared a collection of photos and videos capturing the moments that made the D4B Events so special.

Reflecting on the Texas D4B Events, it’s clear they did more than inform—they inspired. They fostered connections and paved the way for innovative solutions to emerge. We’re excited about the future of data science and the role we’ll play in it, armed with insights, connections, and a shared vision for what’s possible.

“If evolv can leverage AI to help SoFi achieve these kinds of results, imagine how it can help you.” – Chris Schneider, evolv
